About the Raise-a-Reader Grants

The Raise-a-Reader (RaR) Grants were administered by Literacy Nova Scotia in partnership with The Chronicle Herald. The purpose of the grants was to enhance the work of existing programs that support children and their parents and caregivers. The focus of the grants was on developing the literacy skills of families.

2014 Grant Recipients must submit a Raise-a-Reader Grant Activity Report by August 31, 2015.

Nova Scotia literacy organizations received Raise-a-Reader grant money for family literacy programs at the Parade of Lights festivities in November 2012.
