Learning networks may apply for IT funding to refresh existing resources.

The NSSAL IT Fund is sponsored through funding from the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills, and Immigration. This fund is managed by the NSSAL IT Funding Committee consisting of equal representation of LNS and LSI.

Criteria:
Funds are to be used for equipment/resources necessary for the delivery of NSSAL’s Adult Learning Program. This can include, for example, computers, printers, software, laptops, ipad minis, and assistive technology software. Technical support will be considered to a maximum of $400. Cell phone expenses may be considered to a maximum of $400.

Software: You must ensure software items are compatible with your system(s) prior to purchasing.

Items NOT eligible under the NSSAL IT Fund: smart boards and office furniture.
 

Who can apply to the NSSAL IT Fund?

Community learning organizations funded under the Nova Scotia School for Adult Learning can apply for IT funds.
 

Application Process

  • By completing and submitting this online NSSAL IT Fund application, you agree that the information is correct and you have signing authority on behalf of the Community Learning Organization.
     
  • Networks may be funded to a maximum of $1,000 per funding period (July — June). The date of the order and/or receipt cannot precede the date of the application. Starting January 2022, additional applications will be accepted to ensure all IT Funds are used. Those who have reached their maximum of $1000 are eligible to apply for additional funds ($1000). All outstanding claims must be submitted before additional applications will be considered.
     
  • Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis.
     
  • The applications will be reviewed by the NSSAL IT Fund Committee.
     
  • Applicants will be notified via email regarding the approval/denial of the application.
 

Deadline: Applications can be submitted anytime during the year and will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
 

Application Approval

The NSSAL IT Fund Committee will base decisions on:

  • The quality of the application with respect to the eligibility requirements
  • The amount of request
  • The current status of the fund
  • The number of applications received
  • Agreement to submit report and receipts for purchases within 30 days
